You have more choice and control over your personal care when you use in-home support services (IHSS). They allow you to choose the attendant that best suits your needs. You are in charge of choosing who comes to your home to give adult and pediatric support services, not a medical professional or organization. With the help of a participating home health organization, you can oversee your in-home care with our IHSS.
Who Benefits From IHSS?
IHSS is for those who require individualized and thorough care, in-home medical attention, or assistance in maintaining their independence at home. Services that fall under our IHSS include:
Medical and health services include respiratory care, wound care, catheter care, and syringe feeding.
Personal care services include assistance with clothing, bathing, grooming, and moving around the house.
Household Services, including laundry, light housekeeping, and meal preparation.
Would You Qualify for In-Home Support Services?
To be eligible, you need to have Medicaid as your insurance and an IHSS-supporting waiver. IHSS is supported by three waivers, namely:
- HCBS-EBD waiver for the old, blind, or crippled
- HCBS waiver for those suffering from spinal cord injuries
- CHCBS waiver in favor of community- and home-based services for children
Keystone Home Health Services can help if you do not have a waiver. You can get assistance from our knowledgeable staff in comprehending and navigating the waiver application procedure.
What are the differences between each waiver?
HCBS-EBD
- You must be at least eighteen.
- To be eligible for the Health First Colorado Buy-In Program for Working Adults with Disabilities, one’s monthly income must not exceed three times the existing Federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) level.
> Must be blind, physically disabled, or diagnosed with HIV/AIDS between the ages of 18 and 64.
> It must be established that a person 65 years of age or older has a major functional impairment.
HCBS Spinal Cord Injury
- Age requirements dictate that individuals must be 18 years or older.
- Eligibility entails having a diagnosed medical condition and being assessed as having a substantial functional limitation.
- The waiver program provides access to services such as acupuncture, chiropractic care, and massage therapy.
CHCBS – Children’s Home & Community-Based Services
- 17 years of age or under
- Must require ongoing assistance
- Must fit the criterion of disability set forth by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
